OK Go do a chrome experiment

July 28, 2011 § Leave a comment

Long gone are the days that musician could go by a simple, story-telling video clip to go along with their music. That simply won’t do anymore. And if you can’t make an iPad app for your music  you need at least to make it an interactive, online experience. OK Go, of course, are not new to making amazing music videos that go viral on the internet – heck, they invented the viral music video. But their newest endeavour for their song “All is not lost” is an amazing chrome experiment. Featuring moving & synchronized browser windows, amazing choreography by Pilobolus, body typography, kaleidoscopic effects and, *winks* a cameo by it’s a small web, you better not miss it. Minimal tales

Fairy tales and children stories usually create a whole new world full of images to give life to the eloquence and vivid imagination of the author, but these minimalistic posters created by Christian Jackson manage to convey equally each fairy tale’s essence, highlighting just one image like Rapunzel’s golden braid or Snow White’s poison apple.

At the age of 27

July 26, 2011 § Leave a comment

In memory of Amy Winehouse.

M.I.A. released the song called 27 for Amy Winehouse and all the friends that died at the age of 27,  Jim Morrison, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Brian Jones, Kurt Cobain..

Follow the lyrics:

“Said you’re all mouth and no brains
all rock stars go to heaven
you said you’ll be dead at 27
when we drunk in a English tavern
the owner poured you the bourbon
and you drunk yourself so rotten
he got so rich he bought a Bentley
and moved himself to Devon

You started dirty dancing
and you bar-tended a dozen
I took you to the clinic
to get you clean but you couldn’t
said in two days you’re 27 and your destiny was coming
and your papa passed so sudden
and left you with lil’ somin’

you blew that money on a mountain of drugs
and staged your self a bed-in
a month later when I popped in
you’re still high but the winter set in
I bought you a coffee and a muffin
and you quoted me some Lenin
I wished I was that clever
but that’s what kept me coming
your friendship did mean somin’
but you left me for nothin’
when I left, you befriended a rope
and I found you both were hanging.”

What a bloody mess

July 22, 2011 § Leave a comment

Thanks to Dexter and CSI, we all became expert in identifying the profile of a murderer through the spatter of blood in a crime scene. We know what a bloodstain pattern analysis is and we can define the date and time of the crime, the type and velocity of the weapon and if the assailant was left or right handed. Is this normal?

The first ever designed album cover

July 20, 2011 § 4 Comments

We love music, we love design and we just love the work of Alex Steinweiss, art director and graphic designer who died at the age of 94. He invented in 1938 the idea of a custom artwork to record album covers and designed the first covers with original design, replacing the existing non branded 78 rpm record inside protective, pasteboard covers which included only the name of the album and artist simply stamped on the cover and spine.
